Wendy Libby
Wendy B. Libby is president emerita of Stetson University and has served as a chief business officer before becoming president. Wendy’s areas of expertise include new academic programs development, enrollment management, revenue growth, financial planning, budget and planning, finance and administrative operational effectiveness, and athletics.
Prior to Stetson, Libby served as president of Stephens College and vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer at Furman University. During her tenure at Stetson, the university’s endowment more than doubled and undergraduate enrollment grew by nearly 50 percent. Stetson’s College of Law weathered a serious downtown in the national market emerging stronger while maintaining its #1 ranking in trial advocacy. Numerous academic programs were introduced, and the physical appearance of the campus rose to match the university’s overall enhanced stature. Stetson Football returned following a 57-year hiatus, and new women’s sports teams were added. Her leadership experience also includes a three-year stint as vice-chair of the NCAA Division I Presidents Forum.
Libby earned her doctorate in educational administration from the University of Connecticut in 1994. Her BS in biology with a concentration in genetics, is from Cornell University, and she earned an MBA with a concentration in finance from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
