Agency Action
SEC Reopens Comment Window on Proposed Rules
In a May 12 notice in the Federal Register, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) formally reopened its comment period for proposed new rules on private investor disclosures. Such an extension was one of NACUBO’s recommendations in an April comment letter. The new deadline is June 13.
Advocacy
NACUBO Joins NASFAA and Other Organizations on Student Aid Report
The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators ( NASFAA) recently published a report with recommendations for improvements to federal loan servicing and student loan repayment plans, developed with 21 organizations including NACUBO. The report also examines opportunities for reforms to student loan default polices.

Join ACE and ED for Webcast on Mental Health Resources
The American Council on Education (ACE) will partner with ED to explore recent guidance on using institutional HEERF allocations to bolster mental health resources. This one-hour webcast will begin at 2 pm ET on Wednesday, May 25, and registration is free.
