NACUBO recognizes the need for specialized training and mentoring for new business officers, and offers a number of programs that balance experience and expertise with practical application to increase new business officers' organizational, personal, and technical competencies.
Microlearning: New to Higher Education
NACUBO's New to Higher Education microlearning course provides an overview of the complexities and nuances of navigating a college or university environment. Each 10-minute episode of the course shares advice and insights of experienced campus leaders. Complete the course however it fits into your schedule-- one episode at a time or all in one sitting.
New Business Officers (NBO) Program
The New Business Officers (NBO) Program is designed to provide resources, information and guidance to those new to the Chief Business Officer role within a higher education setting. Attendance at the New Business Officers Program is limited to first-time chief business and financial officers who report directly to a president or chancellor and who have been in their current positions for less than three years. Participants examine the current complexities of the role and learn from experienced chief business officers, presidents, provosts, NACUBO experts and other pivotal higher education representatives.
Hosted each summer, New Business Officers Program attendance is limited to chief business and financial officers who report directly to the president or chancellor and who have been in their current positions for less than three years. The program boasts more than 500 alumni.
