  • ASE: Alliance to Save Energy: ASE is a nonprofit organization that promotes energy efficiency worldwide through research, education and advocacy.
  • Campus ERC: Campus Environmental Resource Center: This NACUBO resource provides individuals and educational institutions with the knowledge and tools to maintain environmental regulatory compliance, improve management, and operate sustainably. 
  • DRU: Disaster Resilient Universities: This group is a  network of over 800 higher education institutions, sponsored by the University of Oregon, that facilitates open communication, discussion and resource sharing between college and university administrators charged with making campuses more disaster resilient.  
  • National Wildlife Federation Campus Ecology Program: For more than a decade, this program has been helping transform the nation's college campuses into living models of an ecologically sustainable society, and training a new generation of environmental leaders.
  • Second Nature: This is a Boston-based national organization advancing climate neutrality in an increasingly complex environment. Second Nature offers programs, training sessions, one-on-one consulting and online resources, specifically for higher education, to make the integration of environmental sustainability "second nature" on college and university campuses.
  • United States Green Building Council: This is the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work.
  • University Leaders for a Sustainable Future: This group supports colleges and universities in making sustainability an integral part of curriculum, research, operations, outreach, faculty and staff development, student life and institutional mission.

Energy

Water

Review other initiatives campuses are using to conserve water. Due to either environmental or utility infrastructure problems, in some communities water is becoming the most expensive utility. Vigilance on conserving water can be cost effective, and it helps enlighten students and staff for the future.
