Brett Powell was appointed Vice President for Administrative Services of Ouachita Baptist University in November 2006. He has served higher education in various capacities since 1998, after beginning his career in public accounting in 1989. As Vice President for Administrative Services, he is responsible for the university's accounting, budgeting, investment management, payroll, human resource services, facilities planning and management, purchasing, information technology, risk management, auxiliary services, environmental stewardship and student financial services.
He holds a B.B.A. degree in Accounting from the University of Louisiana – Monroe, an M.B.A. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He also holds an Arkansas license as a Certified Public Accountant.
