Joe Mullinix
Joe Mullinix brings his experience with international campuses and his time working in state systems to NACUBO Consulting. His broad financial experience and background spearheading major infrastructure projects at U.S. and international, public and private, system and single-campus institutions provide an understanding for crafting thoughtful analyses and creative solutions.
Mullinix served as the deputy president at the National University of Singapore for a decade, and previously, the senior vice president, business and finance at the University of California System, the vice president for finance and administration at Yale, and the senior vice president at Columbia University. At these institutions, he focused on a variety of issues: attracting and supporting a more diverse community, addressing neighborhood needs, erasing decades of building and business infrastructure disinvestment, eliminating budget deficits, managing reduced state support, and more.
A former NACUBO board member and chair, Mullinix has served on boards of hospital, HMO, scientific research, educational advocacy, cultural, and community service organizations.
Mullinix earned a BA in Economics at Georgetown, was awarded an MBA from the University of Chicago, and studied in the Harvard Business School doctoral program.
