Tim Meyers is a Senior Advisor to Baker Tilly and provides strategic advice, counsel to entities of all sizes. He is an active investor and currently sits on multiple growth stage company and not-for-profit boards. His specific focus is working closely with senior management teams, entrepreneurs, and their boards to accelerate growth and execute strategic initiatives. He provides advice on financial sustainability, equity and debt structures, acquisitions, dispositions, strategic partnerships, new offerings, management team optimization, workouts, bankruptcy, etc. He has worked with entities in diverse sectors including: software, tech, cyber, biotech, life sciences, healthcare, data analytics, private equity, professional services, manufacture, energy, industrial, real estate, education and not-for-profit. Throughout his career, he has operated in various roles, including Chairman, Managing Partner, Managing Director, Partner, President, CFO, and Chairman of Investment Committees. As an investor he has managed large diversified portfolios for endowments, family offices, and corporate pension funds. As a principal, he has created new VC/private equity, hedge, and real estate funds. He has raised billions in equity and debt. He has led, managed and/or directly invested in over a hundred companies. As board member of more than fifty entities and on the management team of many others, he helped lead the exit planning and process that created tremendous liquidity for owners and investors. Tim started his career with Deloitte working on KKR deals. He left to become the CFO/General Partner for a real estate development firm which was sold to Trammel Crow. He then led a large family office that was very successful investing in the technology boom of the 1990’s and then became a co-founder of Updata, a successful venture capital firm with investors from the country’s largest endowments, pension funds and institutions. During his career his roles included executive, entrepreneurial, board oversight, workout specialist, deal maker, and fundraiser. In many of his positions he helped create the strategic vision and then led the successful execution of the plan. His specific focus today is taking his multi-decade experience to work closely with senior management and their boards to create plans for financial sustainability, accelerate growth and increase shareholder value.
