Shawn McCown brings his experiences in financial management and reporting procedures to NACUBO Consulting. An effective finance and accounting professional with extensive experience in all significant aspects of business accounting and finance, McCown is also well versed in technology and systems evaluation and implementation. He has a broad range of experience, with over 23 years in public and private higher education.
McCown is experienced with the development and implementation of accounting and reporting processes and procedures, as well as general accounting, accounts receivable and payable, cash and treasury management, and tax reporting. He has identified and delivered process improvements and efficiencies leading to efficient monthly and annual accounting closes, and he has led many systems implementations including ERP finance, corporate performance monitoring, e-commerce, imaging, and workflow.
He has also created long-range strategic financial plans with multiple business case scenarios, cash-flow and operating forecasting, debt management, accreditation considerations, and capital expansion.
McCown has his MBA from National University and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University – Long Beach.
