George Latter, Jr., served as Vice President for Finance & Administrative Services at Point Loma Nazarene University from March 2004 to August 2019. As the university’s Chief Financial Officer, he lead strategic financial efforts and oversaw key operational functions including Accounting & Budgeting, Human Resources & Payroll, Student Financial Services, Risk Management, Information Technology, and Facilities. During his tenure as CFO, George was instrumental in the university’s prioritization initiative, led four tax exempt financings, and oversaw the investment activities of the university’s foundation. The university received two credit rating upgrades from Moody’s Investors Services during this period.
George joined Point Loma Nazarene University in March 1988 as Senior Financial Analyst. He was appointed University Controller in July 1989 and served in that capacity until 2002, when his title was changed to Associate Vice President for Finance to reflect his expanded responsibilities. In July 2004, he was appointed Vice President for Finance & Administrative Services. Prior to joining PLNU, George spent nine years in increasingly responsible accounting, internal auditing, and management positions.
George earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. He has served on several visit teams for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
