Louis Curcio graduated from St. Johns University with a Masters Degree in accounting in 2001. From 2001 through 2010 Louis worked with Big Four/Multinational Accounting firms specializing in not for profit taxation issues such as unrelated business income, intermediate sanctions, international tax requirements and 990 compliance. Louis has worked with numerous charities, universities, hospitals, foundations and other not-for-profit organizations, including; Sesame Workshop; The Salvation Army, Covenant House; Hofstra University; Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, Philadelphia Zoo, American Museum of Natural History; Anti Defamation League of B’nai B’rith; and many others. In 2008 Louis conducted a series of trainings to get non-profit organizations ready for the revamping of the Form 990.
In 2004 Louis passed the CPA exam and is currently a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs. In 2009 Louis earned his Juris Doctor from Hofstra and passed the NY Bar exam. Louis is currently a member of the American Bar Association and is licensed to practice Law in New York.
Louis became the Tax Director of New York University in January 2011. In October 2013 Louis was promoted to Senior Director Global Tax Compliance. Louis’ responsibilities include unrelated business income, employment taxation, non-resident alien taxation, payroll taxation, private benefit issues, establishment of tax policies and procedures, international, federal and state tax compliance, training of various divisions and departments regarding University tax issues, and contract review and structuring.
