Chris Cook brings his current experience as the executive director of student accounts for Vanderbilt University to NACUBO Consulting.

His first position in higher education was at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM), his alma mater, where he gained a wealth of knowledge in various positions within the finance department, including payroll, travel, procurement, and accounts payable.  In 2004, he became the assistant bursar, developing and honing skills that would help him identify and successfully interact with the many parties (both on and off campus) critical to the needs of the institution. In 2013, he joined Vanderbilt University in his current role, which includes being part of the enrollment management team as well as the controllers administrative group.

As an active member of NACUBO, he participated in a number of presentations at conferences such as NACUBO SFS and the NACUBO Annual Meeting.  He has been a part of panel discussions for both NACUBO and NASFA in recent years and is currently in his fourth year as a member of the NACUBO Student Financial Services Advisory Council.  With over 20 years of experience in higher education for both public and private universities, Cook maintains that the best part of the job is the interaction with students and their families.

A native of southwest Mississippi, Cook studied at the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned a bachelor of science in business administration with an emphasis in accounting.
