Edie Behr is a Vice President/Senior Credit Officer and Manager of Moody’s Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Team. She oversees a team of analysts that conduct research and assign credit ratings to almost 750 colleges, universities and other not-for-profit organizations in the United States. Prior to assuming her current role, Edie served in a similar leadership capacity for Moody’s U.S. State Ratings and Regional Ratings Teams. Edie is a member of Moody’s Public Finance Franchise Committee which reviews major credit issues affecting all sectors of the firm’s public finance enterprise. She is also an expert on higher education pensions. During her tenure on the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Team, Edie has served as lead analyst for a diverse portfolio of institutions, including Ivy League universities, large public university systems, complex academic medical centers, and nationally prominent not-for-profit organizations.
Prior to joining Moody’s in 2003, Edie served as Executive Director of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority and as President of the National Council of Health Facilities Finance Authorities. From 1984 to 1994, she worked as an investment banker and financial advisor to states, counties and municipalities as well as state and local authorities and school districts.
Edie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati and earned an M.B.A. from New York University. She is a frequent lecturer and a member of several industry associations.
