Rick Anderson
In addition to being a NACUBO Consultant, Rick Anderson is currently the executive vice president for finance and operations at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Prior to joining MUSC, he was executive vice president for finance and administration at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Washburn University, and the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He also was the senior associate dean and CFO in the school of medicine at both the University of Kansas Medical Center and at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He started his higher education career in budget and planning at Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center after being in public accounting with KPMG. He also has served as director of athletics at two Division I institutions.
He is a frequent speaker to organizations on topics including P3 partnerships, healthcare, facilities investment, IT, finance, and college athletics. He has served on community organization boards, as the chair of NACUBO’s comp/doc constituent council committee, and as a board member for the Central Association of College and University Business Officers.
Anderson received his bachelor’s of science in accounting and his MBA while playing college basketball at Oklahoma State University. He is a CPA.
