Rick Anderson became the executive vice president for finance and administration at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) in September of 2016 where he has responsibility for budgeting, financial services, human resources, procurement, police, parking and transportation, information technology, facilities, capital planning, real estate, and all business auxiliary services. He also served as interim director of athletics this past summer.
Prior to joining UTRGV, Anderson was the CBO at Washburn University and University of Missouri – Kansas City. He also was the senior associate dean and CFO in the School of Medicine at both the University of Kansas Medical Center and at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He started his higher education career in budget and planning at Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He has also served NACUBO as the chair of the Comp./Doc. constituent council committee and as a Board member for the Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO).
Anderson received his B.S. in accounting and his MBA from Oklahoma State University and is a CPA. He is a frequent speaker for NACUBO/CACUBO and other organizations on topics including: P3 Partnerships, Healthcare, Facilities Investment and Analysis, and College Athletics.
