University of California, Irvine CFO Ron Cortez on Investing in Your Staff and on Providing Calm During a Pandemic

Ron Cortez serves as Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chancellor, Division of Finance and Administration, at the University of California at Irvine. This week on the show, Cortez joins Megan Strand for a conversation on the best foot forward in the long run with COVID as a CBO.

"It's important to try to provide vision during this time of chaos,” he says. "As we're making lots of change or we’re adapting to different policies or procedures for COVID-19, and as we're bringing back students and having them go to the classroom, it's important for a leader to provide the presence of calm and of organization."

Join us for a conversation with Ron Cortez as he talks about shifting to a world with COVID and focusing on faculty and staff and why a career as a CBO is just as exciting as ever.
