Average Grant Aid Rises, Outpacing Listed Tuition Price Increases, New Report Finds

In 2021-22, undergraduate students received an average of $15,330 in grant-based financial aid, an increase of approximately 3.6 percent over 2020-21 and enough to outpace growth in sticker prices, according to the College Board’s new Trends in College Pricing and Student Aid 2022 report. Meanwhile, total student loan borrowing and student enrollment at postsecondary schools continued to decline.
