ED Targets Next May for Title IX Changes
A recent filing by the Department of Education with the Office of Management and Budget lists May 2022 as its current target for release of a new proposed Title IX rule that is “consistent with the priorities of the Biden-Harris Administration.” In advance of a new rule, ED has already held hearings for the public to weigh in with their Title IX concerns and issued new Title IX guidance in line with the administration’s goals of “promot[ing] safe and inclusive schools for all students.”

White House Releases Infrastructure Deal Fact Sheet
The White House has shared a fact sheet for a bipartisan infrastructure agreement, struck after months of lawmaker negotiations. While the plan does not include many of the “human infrastructure” proposals President Joe Biden put forth in his American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan, such as Pell Grant expansion and free community college, he indicated that Democrats would still move forward on those issues in a second, larger infrastructure package advanced via the reconciliation process.
