The 2020 Sustainable Energy in America Factbook was recently released and indicates progress in energy efficiency and renewable energy over the last decade.

Key findings include:

  • Renewable energy provides 18 percent of total U.S. power generation, up from 10 percent in 2010.
  • Over $390 billion has been invested in new clean energy since 2010.
  • The energy productivity of the U.S. economy grew 3.3 percent in 2019.
  • Energy efficiency, natural gas, and renewable energy supported more than 3.2 million jobs in 2018.

The report is produced by the Business Council for Sustainable Energy and BloombergNEF.
