Become a Member
An institution’s membership dues are calculated based on enrollment and total expenses, as reported to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) for higher education institutions and system offices. Regional association membership is a prerequisite.
Colleges and Universities
Higher Education
Non-profit, degree-granting (associate degree or higher) two-year or four-year colleges and universities based in the United States, Mexico, or Canada. Regionally accredited and recognized by the National Committee on Accreditation or any successive body. Qualifies as non-profit under the Internal Revenue Code. Institutions not yet accredited that have attained a pre-accredited status with an appropriate accrediting agency will maintain provisional status until accreditation has been achieved.
Governing Board
Systems or district offices of institutions, with college and university business officers administratively responsible for two or more institutions with no student enrollments.
For-Profit Institutions
Accredited firms or institutions in the for-profit sector that provide post-secondary course work or certificate or degree granting education.
International
Institutions, associations, and organizations established outside of the U.S., excluding the bordering countries of Canada and Mexico, and its territories, engaged in or concerned with higher education.
Non-Profit Educational Institutions/Organizations
Affiliate
Institutions, associations, or other organizations engaged in or concerned with primary or secondary education (K-12), or any other phase of education other than higher education, which are entitled to exemption under 501(c)(3) or Section 115 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Associate
Organizations concerned with higher education (including but not limited to museums, libraries, coordinating boards or agencies, foundations, and societies), which are entitled to exemption under Section 501(c)(3) or Section 115 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Corporations
Industry/Business Partner
Organizations, corporations, or other corporate entities that provide a service for or have an interest in higher education. Learn more about corporate partner opportunities.
Business Partner grants NACUBO a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use its name and logo to (i) display in NACUBO’s Business Partner Searchable Directory (ii) otherwise accurately identify the company as a NACUBO Business Partner member.
Individual
Retiree
Individuals who have an interest in higher education business and financial management who have retired from a NACUBO member institution and earn no income from an institution/organization eligible for NACUBO membership or as a consultant within higher education.
Student
Individuals actively pursuing a degree within an accredited academic program and earn no income from an institution/organization eligible for NACUBO membership or as a consultant within higher education.
