This presentation will focus on how one institution detects compliance and other risks to their international research operation and established tools to prevent pitfalls from being recurring barriers to success. As part of their effort to manage the permanent presence associated with their research in a foreign country, the institution established an international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and presenters will explain its financing model, which is fully compliant with Uniform Guidance costing principles. Audience takeaways will include tips and techniques to identify, manage and prevent compliance and other risks, financing NGOS using federal funding sources, and understanding the cost of maintaining this financial model.
