2022 New Business Officers (NBO) Program

July 15–16 | Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center | Denver

Overview

The New Business Officers (NBO) Program is designed to provide resources, information, and guidance to those new to the chief business officer role within a higher education setting. Throughout the two-day workshop, participants will examine the complexities of the role and learn from experienced chief business officers, presidents, provosts, NACUBO experts, and other significant higher education representatives. Key issues for the success of every new business officer will be covered, including the effective use of data, managing relationships with fellow cabinet members, and working with the president and the board.

Attendance at the New Business Officers Program is limited to first-time chief business and financial officers who report directly to a president or chancellor and who have been in their current positions for less than three years.

Business officers interested in this program will need to complete a short questionnaire. If the business officer meets the program eligibility requirements, a registration link will be sent to the applicant via email.

* Please note: This program does not offer on-site registration.

Ensuring Your Safety

The COVID-19 situation in the United States is fluid, and we continue to monitor developments that may impact attendees for our 2022 New Business Officers (NBO) Program. As such, we will continue to update the safety precautions outlined below as appropriate to minimize risks to conference attendees and staff. In order to stay current, check this page periodically leading up to the forum.

NACUBO is requiring all registrants to be fully vaccinated* prior to participating in the in-person program. We are working with a third-party organization regarding the process and logistics for vaccination documentation. More information will be made available shortly.

This requirement is consistent with a growing trend for conferences and other events/activities.

*Fully vaccinated status is defined as having received all the required doses of an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses of Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) at least 2 weeks before the start date of the program (July 1, 2022). While vaccine boosters are not required, NACUBO highly encourages attendees to receive recommended boosters when eligible.

We also recommend that attendees wear masks while traveling to and from the event and follow COVID-safe practices in the weeks leading up to the event. Masks will be available on-site if you need one, and if it's your preference to wear one.
