Overview

Cybersecurity
In many ways, colleges and universities resemble small cities, particularly considering the variety of vendors often found on campus. The disparities between vendors can make it challenging to provide consistent user experiences to students paying for goods and services—from making online tuition payments to point-of-sale bookstore purchases—and strain institutions’ ability to comply with payment card industry (PCI) compliance, which protects data and prevents fraud.

This webcast will provide an overview of Harvard’s experiences with centralizing PCI compliance, implementing its omnichannel payment management system, and achieving PCI compliance by connecting its vendors to one centralized system. The results have shown improved student experience, reduced paperwork, and greater efficiencies across the institution. The presenters will also touch on PCI DSS v4.0, outline changes on the horizon to the PCI Software Security Framework, and explain the advantages of centralized payments, including flexible administration and greater continuity during unforeseen circumstances.
