Here at NACUBO we believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and this belief guides our diversity, equity, and inclusion training initiatives. To build collective understanding around diversity, equity and inclusion we have created several resources and tools to assist with your equity journey.

Each year NACUBO strives to regularly include content in our conferences that focuses on race, gender, and diversity awareness and inclusion. At recent NACUBO events, speakers have included:

  • Clarence Page, political commentator and author of Culture Warrior Reflections on Race, Politics and Social Change Selected Columns (2019)
  • Beverly Daniel Tatum, author of Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria (five events in 2018)
  • W. Kamau Bell, author, writer, and host of United Shades of America (2018)

  • Panel featuring: Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole anthropologist, educator, museum director, and college president, Bryan Stevenson, founder Equal Justice initiative, author, Just Mercy, and Ray Suarez, journalist, PBS News Hour (2016)

In addition to the items above our annual gatherings regularly include convenings for college and university business officers from historically black colleges and universities, female business officers, and LGBTQ business officers to identify and address issues and concerns in higher education administrative operations.
