Overview

A NACUBO / Treasury Institute for Higher Education Webcast

Institutions of higher education are charged today with doing more with less.  Converting manual processes to automated ones is a proven way of making your operation more efficient and reducing errors as well as driving down your costs.  This is particularly true in the area of payments, whether collecting tuition, ticket sales, and conference fees, or disbursing student refunds.

The University of Colorado has streamlined several of its payment areas by introducing electronic payments using the Automated Clearing House, or ACH, system. This program will look at the various areas where institutions can use ACH payments, either for incoming or outgoing payments, as well as some of the implementation issues that will be encountered.  Special rules pertaining to Internet ACH payments will also be covered, including authorization and security requirements.

What You Will Learn:

  • Who does what in the ACH system?
  • What will be your responsibilities?
  • Potential areas of application for ACH payments
  • The rules regarding Internet ACH payments
  • The potential impact on your organization of checks converted to ACH

Who Should Participate:

  • Cash managers
  • Admissions / registration / application process owners
  • Bursars
  • Retiree benefit coordinators
