  • The Bowling Green State University webpage on sustainability provides an informational outlet for various activities across the campus and community. These include linking with the community in collection and recycling of mercury, a comprehensive orphan chemical recycling program, a move-out program that diverts normal end-of-year waste from the dormitories to new uses, and making ice from the sun through solar panels on the ice arena roof.
  • University Committee for a Sustainable Campus - In keeping with Michigan State University's role as a land grant university, the mission of the University Committee for a Sustainable Campus is to foster a collaborative learning culture that will lead the MSU community to a heightened awareness of its environmental impact; to conserve natural resources for future generations; and to establish MSU as working for creating a sustainable community.
  • Environmental Coordination Office of Students (ECOS), University of Alberta - ECOS provides experiential learning opportunities and resources for the University of Alberta campus community. They are committed to 'greening' the campus through a number of student-led initiatives promoting waste reduction, ecological education, and lifestyle alternatives.
  • The State University of New York at Buffalo - WELCOME to UB Green, an umbrella Web site for University at Buffalo (UB) environmental standing activities and programs. UB has the environmental impact of a modest size city. Through campus environmental stewardship UB can make campus operations less consuming of natural resources and less polluting of natural ecosystems.
  • University of Colorado at Boulder - The Blueprint for a Green Campus builds on the environmental successes at CU over the last two decades. They propose a vision of a growing, dynamic campus which steps lightly upon the earth and satisfies additional demands for energy, transportation, and resources through increased efficiency rather than increased consumption.
  • Center for Regenerative Studies – California State Polytechnic University - The John T. Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies (The Lyle Center) is an interdisciplinary university-based setting for education, demonstration and research in regenerative and sustainable systems.
  • Georgia Institute of Technology - The Center for Sustainable Technology is introducing ecological principles into the design of new buildings and existing operations, in addition to reviewing existing courses and creating new curricula that address and incorporate environmental themes.
  • University of Pennsylvania – Campus Environmental Audit - This paper examines the University of Pennsylvania's Environmental System by conducting an environmental audit.
  • Brown University Campus Environmental Stewardship and Resource Conservation Program - Brown University's commitment to promoting campus environmental responsibility and resource conservation, Brown Is Green is a cooperative effort by all departments, staff, students, and faculty. Established in 1990, Brown Is Green program is Brown's educational and advocacy program which links student research and education efforts with administrative offices. The goal is to implement programs that reduce the environmental risks of operations.
  • Princeton Environmental Reform Committee - The Princeton Environmental Reform Committee (PERC) is a group of students, graduate students, faculty, and staff that work with University Offices and departments to encourage responsible environmental management in the Princeton University community.
  • Environmental Fellows Program – Report on Campus Sustainability (University of Illinois) - This report was produced by ten students in the Environmental Fellows Program with the goal of improving the sustainability of the University of Illinois campus. The recommendations are intended to guide the University of Illinois towards more environmentally and economically sustainable progress.
  • Clarkson University - The Clarkson Environmental Sustainability Initiative (CSI) is a multi-year, cross-campus process that applies the emerging principles of Environmental Systems Thinking to all aspects of campus life: the Clarkson vision and values, curricula, research, student life, grounds, purchasing, and the physical plant, among others.
  • University of Massachusetts Lowell - The Lowell Center for Sustainable Production develops, studies, and promotes environmentally sound systems of production, healthy work environments, and economically viable work organizations.
  • University of Missouri – Rolla - UMR's environmental management system covers the educational, research and administrative activities of the campus.
  • Tracking UVM: Environmental Report Card 1990-2000 - The report card tracks the University of Vermont's environmental impacts with indicators encompassing land and water use, energy and air pollution, solid and hazardous wastes, and academics and culture. The report describes university policies, best practices, community concerns, and next steps for greening the university.
  • Environmental Stewardship at the University of Michigan - The University of Michigan is involved in a number of stewardship initiatives across campus including resource conservation, pollution prevention, "green" purchasing, and transportation initiatives.
  • University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Sustainability Coalition - The mission of the UNC Sustainability Coalition is to promote a strong environmental ethic and to cultivate sustainable policies, practices, and curriculum throughout the University. The initiative began four years ago and is composed of faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
  • Ithaca College Resource and Environmental Management Plan - The Ithaca College Resource and Environmental Management Program (REMP) promotes awareness of environmental concerns, resource management, recycling, and conservation; implements new programs that benefit the environment; educates the College community and the general public about the need to preserve the environment; and manages the College's waste stream in a cost-effective and environmentally sound manner.
  • University of Florida - Greening UF is a grassroots movement of students, faculty, and staff from a variety of academic and administrative units that was initiated in October 1997. The purpose of the movement is to increase environmental literacy on campus, examine current practices to reduce environmental impact and to create a culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Associated Colleges of the South - Since 1997, the Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) Environmental Initiative has supported a multi-phase program in environmental citizenship whose overall mission and goal is to change the way people think about and act towards the natural world. We are accomplishing this goal primarily by fostering environmentally sensitive attitudes and practices at our member institutions and by modeling these changes for other colleges, universities and consortia.
