Basic Technical Requirements

Technology Resound Desktop Requirements
Operating System Microsoft Windows 95, NT 4.0, 98 / 2000 ME, Microsoft 2000 Professional, or XP (Mac and Linux not supported)
Processor Pentium Class 166 MHz+
Memory 32 MB RAM minimum. 64 MB RAM recommended.
Disk Space 10 MB of available hard-disk space
Keyboard/Mouse Standard, required
Audio Sound Blaster or comparable audio card
Video SVGA 800 x 600 pixels (16 bit high-color depth) required. XVGA 1024 x 768 recommended
Internet Connection: Home/ Home Office Internet Access with 56Kbps service (modem & telephone line) or better required. Internet Access with DSL/cable modem/ISDN service recommended.
Internet Connection: Corporate Network: Media streaming through firewalls and proxy servers, and configured to support Windows Media Player v. 6.4
Browser MS Internet Explorer 5.0+ with pop-up blockers disabled (Netscape is not supported); upgrade at www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp
JAVA

Microsoft VM or Sun JRE 1.4 required. You may need to download the latest Java Virtual Machine. Go to http://java.com/en/index.jsp to download the latest Java Virtual Machine. You can also download JAVA Virtual Machine. 

  1. Dowload the zip file
  2. Unzip the file
  3. Launch the .exe file
  4. Follow on screen instructions.

After installation is complete:

  1. Open a new browser in Internet Explorer.
  2. In the Menu bar, go to Tools > Internet Options.
  3. Click on the Advanced tab in the Internet Options window.
  4. Scroll down to area called Java (SUN).
  5. Uncheck any boxes in this section.
  6. Close all of the browser windows and reopen.
JavaScript JavaScript must be enabled in Internet Explorer
ActiveX

Down load support for signed ActiveX objects required. If you failed Active X on the diagnostic you may have incorrect ActiveX Settings

  1. Open a new Browser window
  2. Go to Tools / Internet Options/ Security/ Custom Level
  3. The following Settings should be selected:
    • Download signed ActiveX controls: enabled
    • Download unsigned ActiveX controls: enabled
    • Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: disabled
    • Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: enabled
    • Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting: enabled
Microsoft Media Player

Studio-originated programs also require Microsoft Media Player (version 6.4+) (May have some issues with versions below 7.0)

To dowload go to:

Pop-up windows Enabled. You must completely turn off any pop-up blockers.
Active X For application sharing, users must have the ability to download Active X controls
Plug-ins
