How do I purchase the study results?

The 2007 NES results are online products that are now available for purchase.  The executive summary and complete study can be purchased through NACUBO's online bookstore or by phone at 202.861.2500. The complete 2007 NES is $335.00 for non-members and $89.95 for NACUBO members. The price for the executive summary is $79.00 for non-members and $29.95 for NACUBO members.  These online products provide instant access to study results. Please note that institutional participants and study sponsors have complimentary access to the study results and do not need to purchase the study.

Can I preview some of the tables before purchasing the study?

Yes. Please refer to the tables available to the public on the Public NES Tables page. These tables include a listing of participants by total market value of endowments; average compounded nominal rate of return; average asset allocation by asset class; and the average annual calcuated spending rate.

Will I have access to information about investment managers?

No contact information for institutional or investment fund managers is provided in the NACUBO Endowment Study. The name(s) of the companies that manage institutions' investments is given. For information about investment management, please refer to study Table 56: Investment Managers by Asset Class.

How may my institution participate in the 2008 study?

In order to participate in the NES, your institution must be a regular NACUBO member with an endowment greater than $1 million. If your college or university participated in the 2007 NACUBO Endowment Study, you will automatically receive information about the 2008 study in early August.  Learn more about participating in future NES surveys.

Some of the tables have an institutional code. What does this mean and where can I find the code list?

In order to protect the confidentiality of sensitive data, we use code numbers to identify institutions. Each institution is randomly assigned an identification code.  These codes are available only to 2007 NES participating institutions.  As we do every year, we ask that the identification code key be handled with the utmost confidentiality and not be shared outside your institution. Please refer to the Access and Use Policy for more information. For more information about the NES code lists, please contact Jessica Shedd at 202.861.2527.

What is the NACUBO Endowment Study Tool (NEST)?  Can I compare my institution’s data to other participants in the study?

Thanks to NEST, NES participants can compare their endowment size, asset allocation, rate of return, and endowment payout rate with other participant's individual and aggregate data. For a demonstration of NEST, take a look at our video. NACUBO, in conjunction with TIAA-CREF and enumerate, offers this interactive data analysis tool exclusively to NES participants.

To register additional users, please contact NACUBO NES personnel.

My company is interested in becoming a sponsor of the Endowment Studies. How do we do this?
