Perkins Loan Program Expires, ED Provides Wind-Down Guidance

Despite bipartisan support in both chambers of Congress, the Federal Perkins Loan Program expired on September 30. If an institution made a disbursement of a Perkins Loan to an eligible undergraduate before October 1, the student may receive any subsequent disbursement of that loan through June 30, 2018.

U.S. Graduate Schools See Growth in Applications and Certificates

The number of students applying for admission to master's, doctoral, and other post-baccalaureate programs at U.S. colleges and universities increased from fall 2015 to 2016, according to a new report.
