NACUBO offers relevant and timely programming, publications, and other resources specific to business officers and staff at small colleges, universities, and independent schools. Over 1,000 NACUBO member institutions fall into this category for entities with 4,000 or less full-time equivalent enrollment.

NACUBO 2013 Annual meeting

From July 13-16, 2013, the following annual meeting sessions, among others, are planned especially for business officers at small institutions:

  • Roundtable for Small Institution Chief Business Officers(B. Roberts, Alcorn State University)
  • Health Care Reform: Strategies for Compliance(P. Dunleavy, Marywood University, H. Ives, Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA, J. Napier-Joyce, Jackson Lewis LLP)
  • Benchmarking Expenditures for Efficiency and Effectiveness (B. Powell, Ouachita Baptist University)

Advance registration rates are in effect until June 21, 2013.

Author Michael J. Lochhead offers colleagues a case study exploring decisions regarding resource allocation, strategic planning and leadership in The Faith-Based Institution: A Case Study.

Dr. Thomas R. Kepple Jr. examines the opportunities and challenges the CFO at a small institution might face in The Small Private College. Readers will gain a sneak peak at the relationships and critical focus areas that are not traditionally part of the CFO's position at a larger institution.

Roundtable Discussions

The Small Institutions Council periodically hosts roundtable teleconferences for chief business officers from similar institutions. The discussionson January 13, February 16 and March 17, 2010, covered a wide variety of topics.
