Released today, the 2015 NACUBO Tuition Discounting Study found the estimated average institutional discount rate for first-time freshmen reached a record high of 48.6 percent in 2015-16. The rate for all undergraduates rose to 42.5 percent, also an all-time high.

Comment Deadline Approaching for GASB Lease Proposal

Comments on GASB’s exposure draft covering new accounting and reporting guidance for leases are due May 31. GASB is proposing a single model for all leases based on the foundational principle that leases are financings of the right to use an underlying asset.

New ED Posts to Help with Student Communications

The Department of Education has released new web resources for schools to share with students, particularly those with federal student loans. Among its Digital Outreach Resources are infographics on applying for financial aid, sharable Facebook and Twitter posts about repaying student loans, and video tutorials on responsible borrowing, saving, and more.


New CUBA Chapter on Facilities Management

Premier Program for New Business Officers

There’s still time to register for the New Business Officers Program (NBO), offered before the NACUBO 2016 Annual Meeting in Montréal. Open to chief business or financial officers who have held their positions for fewer than three years, the program will provide resources, guidance, and the opportunity to hear from experienced CBOs, presidents, and provosts. The deadline to register is May 31.
