Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Burden Reduction Initiative

Federal Register, January 17, 2002, Page 2518-2544

Environmental Protection Agency

Proposed rule.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposes to reduce the record keeping and reporting burden the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) imposes on the states, the public, and the regulated community. The burden reduction ideas proposed today will have no anticipated impact on the protections for human health and the environment we have established. At the same time, our proposals will eliminate non-essential paperwork.

In a Federal Register "Notice of Data Availability" published June 18, 1999, we asked for comment on an initial set of burden reduction ideas. In today's action, we are repurposing for rulemaking many of these ideas.

Written comments must be received by April 17, 2002.
