Summary
The Secretary proposes to amend the regulations governing the Federal Perkins (Perkins) Loan Program, Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program, and William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program regulations in order to strengthen and improve the processes for granting loan discharges based on a borrower's death or total and permanent disability.
