Summary
The Secretary amends the Student Assistance General Provisions, Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program, William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program, and Federal Pell Grant Program regulations. In these final regulations, the requirements for the loan default reduction and prevention measures are moved to a new subpart and revised for clarity and consistency. The Secretary also makes various substantive changes to these requirements.
