Overview

This program is the perfect introduction for professionals just starting out in higher education accounting, as well as those looking to brush up on their technical accounting knowledge. Topics address donor restrictions, endowment accounting, split-interest agreements, tuition discounts, plant and debt, operating issues and more. Concurrent sessions and hands-on exercises are designed to accommodate the different financial accounting and reporting requirements of public and private institutions. Attendees will also receive an explanation of current FASB and GASB standards – and projects in the standard setters’ pipeline. The workshop is conducted by an experienced faculty including a university president, a controller, and an accounting professor. There will also be plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues at events such as a welcome reception.
