OD: What Should College Leaders Know About Tax Reform?

Recorded on Thursday, July 20, 2017 1:00 PM ET

Despite calls for comprehensive tax reform in 2017, lawmakers have yet to unveil detailed tax legislation. However, in 2014, a tax reform “discussion draft” proposed a wide-ranging scope of proposed changes to higher education that would impact students and their families, the higher education workforce, and the fundamental business operations of colleges and universities. Three-years later, those proposals remain “on the menu,” with implications for:
  • Student and Family Education Tax Benefits
  • Employee Tax Benefits
  • Financing Tax-Exempt Organizations
    • Charitable Giving and endowments
    • Tax-Exempt Bond Financing
    • UBIT, Excise Taxes, and Penalties
Join this NACUBO webcast for a basic understanding of proposals that could impact higher education. Presenters will offer observations and analysis of the major implications for colleges and universities.
