OD: H1N1 Campus Management: Perspectives from Human Resources, the Business Office and Health & Safety Management
Recorded September 15, 2009
Overview
Concerns about a possible H1N1 (swine flu) outbreak loom on the horizon of the fall and winter semesters. The impact on colleges and universities, with concentrated populations living and working in close proximity, could be severe. The National Association of College and University Business Officers, American College Health Association (ACHA) and the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) have joined forces to offer a program drawing on the efforts of an institution that is at the forefront of planning for a pandemic.
You’ll hear presentations from the Chief Business Officer, Chief Human Resource Officer and Health & Safety Director from Carnegie Mellon, each providing their own perspective on an overall crisis/emergency response with a focus on student and faculty health, and financial, operational, and safety issues.
If your campus hasn’t started preparing, you’ll learn why you should and how to start. If you are already working on a plan, you’ll have the opportunity to benchmark your efforts with those at another institution. This seminar will help you understand the threat, evaluate your options, and focus your planning efforts from an operational perspective. The program will feature a 60-minute presentation and a 30-minute question-and-answer period. The entire program will last 90 minutes.
