OD: Make Your Voice Heard: Tax Reform Hits Higher Education Hard

Recorded on Thursday, November 9, 2017 3:00 PM ET

With the November 2 release of long-awaited tax reform legislation, H.R. 1, The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, Congress kicked off the legislative process with the goal of sending a final bill to President Donald Trump before the end of the year. Unfortunately, the bill includes  numerous  provisions with adverse implications for colleges and universities, affecting your students, your workforce, and your campus operations.
Congressional tax writers are planning swift action, so now is the time for your institution to voice your concerns with your senators and representatives in Washington. Join NACUBO’s federal affairs director, Liz Clark, for a look at everything that’s at stake for higher education in the bill and the issues that impact your campus, including:
  • Charitable giving
  • Endowments
  • Unrelated business income tax
  • Tax-exempt bonds
