Leaders in Sustainability Recognized in AASHE Campus Index

November 14, 2017

The 2017 Sustainable Campus Index, published by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), has recognized colleges and universities as top performers in sustainability.

The results are based on self-submitted reports to the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). As of July, 445 institutions in 10 countries had submitted data. Institutions then receive a rating of bronze, silver, gold, or platinum from AASHE for their efforts. AASHE evaluates institutions’ sustainability efforts in academics, engagement, operations, and planning and administration, as well as numerous specific sub-topics.

This year, AASHE recognized the top 10 schools by institution type. The first five in each category are listed below; for the full rankings, access the Sustainable Campus Index.
