Data Collection Begins for 2015 NACUBO-Commonfund Study of Endowments

September 9, 2015

The data collection period for the 2015 NACUBO-Commonfund Study of Endowments (NCSE) began on Wednesday, September 2 and will continue through Friday, November 6. Invitations were emailed to institutional representatives on September 2. On the NCSE2015 website, prospective participants can review a copy of the questionnaire, participation instructions, frequently asked questions, and a glossary of key terms.

Please email the NCSE Help Desk to confirm the name of the staff member at your institution who received the survey invitation or to sign up to participate. Public and private nonprofit higher education institutions with endowments or affiliated foundations of all sizes are invited to take part in the survey.

The annual NACUBO-Commonfund Study of Endowments, jointly sponsored by NACUBO and Commonfund Institute, is the most widely recognized annual survey of higher education endowment performance. The NCSE offers more than 50 data tables on investment returns, asset allocation, additions to and withdrawals from investment pools, effective spending rates and spending polices, and investment management policies, practices, and strategies.

The 2014 NCSE included information from 832 college and university endowments and affiliated foundations, totaling more than $516 billion in assets. NACUBO's NCSE project page has more information on this vital study.
