HEAF Speakers Announced

Mark Beasley, Brent Rubin, and Eva Klein—all well-known experts—are the general session speakers at the 2013 Higher Education Accounting Forum to be held  May 19–21 in Savannah. This popular event offers the latest information on trends, issues, and best practices in financial accounting and reporting, and managerial issues and analysis for all types of institutions.

Beasley, who is the Deloitte Professor of Enterprise Risk Management and director, ERM Initiative, at North Carolina State University's Poole College of Management, will speak on enterprise risk and financial statement fraud. Rubin, who is the executive director, Rutgers Center for Organizational Development and Leadership, will discuss change management and organizational culture. Speaking on the state of higher education will be Eva Klein, president of Eva Klein & Associates Ltd., a consulting practice focused on strategies for the global knowledge economy.

In addition, the keynote session will be presented by fraud examiner and author Pamela Meyer as part of the NACUBO leadership series. Other topics that will be covered at the forum include financial analysis, tax updates and campus tax issues, shared services, internal controls, audit changes, athletics, monitoring sponsored programs, financial statement preparation, management reporting, and ethical conflicts. There will also be updates from the FASB and the GASB.

Attendees of the January30 webcast, "Plan for Declining Governmental Support," had the opportunity to learn about what is in store as President Obama and Congress address the federal deficit spending and establish new revenue and spending policies.
