Supporting Reading Is Fundamental (RIF)
ADP, Follett Higher Education Group, Johnson Controls, Sallie Mae, and Teibel, Inc. partnered with NACUBO to support children's literacy at the NACUBO 2011 Annual Meeting. During the annual meeting, these companies agreed to donate $2.25 to RIF for each business card dropped at their booth. All total more than 1,000 business cards were dropped off and over $2,250 was donated to RIF to help provide a book to a child in need.
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the nation's largest children's literay nonprofit, prepares and motivates children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them the most. Our vision is to create a literate America where all children have access to books—one book, one choice, one child at a time.

About NACUBO Community Service
Since 2007, under NACUBO's leadership, member volunteers have replanted a university campus devastated by hurricane Katrina, and refurbished five schools in conjunction with NACUBO's Annual Meeting. Additionally, in the spring of 2010 member institutions supported a project to raise awareness among inner-city students of higher education's role in creating a brighter future for them. NACUBO partners with service providers to support projects and works with local universities and volunteer organizations to identify the projects. Through these projects NACUBO is helping the community and exposing higher education to those who may not have thought it was available to them.
